"Electric Universe" was Earth, Wind & Fire's 14th album. As a concept piece, the album gets high marks. It's set list and video plays out like some futuristic space saga as it describes a mechanized society devoid of human compassion, caring and declining consciousness. No, this doesn't take place a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away/5(50).

When Earth, Wind & Fire recorded Electric Universe, R&B was in the process of getting a high-tech makeover. A variety of R&B, ranging from hip-hop to new wave rock to the electronic synth-pop. Originally released by Columbia Records/CBS Records, the release contained the funky Sweet Sassy Lady to the ballads Could It Be Right and Were Living in Our Own Time, an experimental mood /5(50).
